Mechanical Engineer Intern
- Analyzed and Modeled in PIPESTRESS the Reactor Coolant Piping System (Waterford Unit 3) for replacement steam generators. A 511 million dollar project.
- Conferred with engineers and other personnel to create analysis procedures in accordance to the ASME code to reduce piping analysis time by 40%.
- Designed and analyzed extenders for a rotary table used for machining the outlet nozzles on the Shin Kori core support barrel units. Worked alongside and met with manufacture engineers. Created a technical document of the analysis and accepted proposed design.
- Modeled the shipping skids for the Shin Kori 1,2,3 units using Pro-E for a presentation to the customer in Korea and for future analysis. Read and interpreted technical drawings.
Academic Project, Intro to Mechanical & Industrial Design Fall 2006
- Lead a team of three to design a cost effective hockey puck shooter able to shoot a hockey puck 65mph.
- Designed a computer prototype utilizing Pro-Engineer.
- Built a Proto-type to design specifications using the universities machine shop.
- Presented to three judges and peers, and wrote a technical report.
- Competed against 15 teams in a competition sponsored by Sensata Technologies. (Third Place honors)
Academic Project, Design of Mechanical Components Spring 2007
- Redesigned the plastic chair to become more environment friendly.
- Designed new plastic chair using Pro-E and Ran FEA Analysis using ANSYS workbench.
- Presented design proposal to class.
