7 Steps to Freedom

Following Gary Halbert’s advice I am reading the last book he recommends now. 7 Steps to Freedom by Ben Suarez

I have currently read

1.Scientific Advertising by Claude Hopkins

2.Robert Collier Letter Book by Robert Collier

3.How to Write a Good Advertisement by Vic Schwab

4.The Boron Letters by Gary Halbert

5.The Lazy Man’s Way to Riches by Joe Karbo

6.Breakthrough Advertising by Eugene Schwartz

For those of you who do not know who Benjamin Suarez, he is on of the best business builders and copywriters in the world.  He once was a normal person with a job, then he went on to work for the late Gary Halbert and took what he learned from Gary and started his own direct response business.  His company Suarez Inc. currently does 120 Millions in sales. Not too Bad.  I got a used copy off amazon.com for $7 and its probably the best $7 dollar purchase I have made in the year 2009.

The Second Chapter Alone, 21 Myths that will keep you from becoming a financial success, had me really thinking

Myth: I don’t have a product to sell

Ben Suarez Says and I now agree with DO NOT DEVELOP A PRODUCT FIRST. FIND A MARKET FIRST.

One of my biggest sticking points had been, I don’t have a product.  Truth is products are a dime a dozen.  Especially today you can start making money online by selling affiliate products from sites like Clickbank.com.   Most people confuse Entrepreneur with Inventor, I did for a long time.  The reason for that is very explainable.  The entrepreneurs that you hear about in the news are the one in a million type.   The ones that came out with an idea so radically that it work, something like face book.  Why do you hear about these entrepreneur, simple because these are the good stories.  Creating a Product first is a huge gamble, it is risky but if it pays off your going to wind up on the cover of entrepreneur magazine.  There are many products in the grave because they were created without a market in mind.  Find a market and find out what the market wants, then worry about creating a product.

I will elaborate more on the 21 myths another time.  Gonna get back to reading the book and see how I can apply it my online ventures. Peace
